On the 15th of November, the MCF (Moniteur Cycliste Français) gathered for their annual championship. The event was a bit special this year as we were celebrating the 10 anniversary of the MCF, Vallon pont d’arc (Ardéche) was chosen as the venue for the event as it’s where it all started ten years ago.
What a busy weekend ! Friday started with group sports activities (I found the kayaking a bit fresh in November !) followed by a moving annual meeting looking back over the past decade.
Saturday was race day, we had to compete in 4 different discipline, with the best over all becoming champion. So we kicked off with XC, followed by an enduro type DH, then Trial and finally Orienteering. All of that on stunning single tracks previously mapped out by the local instructors. Needless to say that a few of us were struggling a bit in the evening, no connection with the party, of course !
Sunday was dedicated to Downhill and setting the handicap for the Rocket Test, by the instructors and in the presence of the national DH champs Céline Gros and Damien Spagnolo. After some good DH racing on a wet and technical track we ended the day with a long DH marathon... just for the fun of it !

The venue for the 10th MCF challenge in 2010 hasn’t been chosen yet, but Vallon did raise the bar very high this year... well done guys and thank you !
